Research Interests:
I am interested in how Prochlorococcus strains differ. What genes do
they have in common, and how do the differences contribute to their adaptation
to diverse environments? I am also interested in how a cell's metabolism is
affected by viral infection. How does a phage keep a cell alive long enough to
build more phage? I am using a computational approach to these questions. My
hope is that they can be answered with the help of comparative genomics,
metabolic network modeling, and the analysis of transcription data.
